For many investors, Walmart will be in the spotlight. Wall Street is calling for earnings of $1.43 a share on revenue of nearly $131 billion.
Both the top and bottom line are projected to decline from a year ago.
UBS analysts are worried that food deflation could impact the company's same-store sales. Holiday sales were decent, but consumer electronic sales were disappointing. Investors will be focused on the retail giant's performance.
On the economic calendar we'll have the Empire State Manufacturing Survey and housing market index on Tuesday.
Half way through the week, we'll get U.S. housing starts, the Producer Price Index and minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee.
On Thursday we'll get jobless claims and the weekly oil inventory data.
