For Wednesday November 18, investors will be paying close attention to the remaining companies showing us how they performed in the latest quarter. The majority of them will be retailers. In the morning, we get quarterly results from Lowe's (LOW), Target (TGT) and Staples (SPLS). Then after the closing bell, we hear from Salesforce.com (CRM), L Brands (LB) and Ctrip.com (CTRIP). Given the gloomy retail landscape, many investors will be watching L Brands when the specialty retailer posts its third quarter earnings. Analysts are calling for $0.52 a share on revenue of about $2 and a half billion. Additionally, we have major economic reports on the calendar. We get the MBA mortgage applications at 7 a.m Eastern and then several Fed officials, including William Dudley, Dennis Lockhart and Loretta Mester will be speaking in New York. Expect to get housing starts at 8:30 a.m. followed by the weekly oil data at 10:30. Then in the afternoon, the Federal Open Market Committee will issue minutes of its October meeting. TheStreet's U-Jin Lee reports in New York.
